Porridge Preparation
There are different variations of preparing baby’s porridge.
The use of breastmilk:
- Mix 25 g (approx. 5 tablespoons) of porridge with 130 ml (4.5 oz.) of warm breast milk
- Do not heat breast milk more than 40°C (104°F)
The use of half milk and half water:
- Cool boiled 100ml of milk and 100 ml of water to 50°C (122°F)
- Mix it with 25g of porridge (approx. 5 spoons)
- Cool the porridge to (37°C/98.6°F)
Milk free porridge:
- Cool boiled water 200ml to 50°C (122°F)
- Mix 25 g (approx. 5 tablespoons) of porridge with 1 teaspoon organic baby oil
- Check the porridge temperature (37°C/98.6°F)
The use of infant formula:
- Prepare 170ml of infant formula
- Pour the prepared formula into a bowl and mix it with 18g of porridge (approx. 3-4 spoons)
- Cool it to 37°C/98.6°F
Dairy free porridge with fruits and vegetables:
- Mix 20g (approx. 4 spoons) of porridge with 100g of puree fruits or with 160g of vegetable puree with 2 teaspoons of baby oil or with 30g meat puree
- Add 1 teaspoon of organic baby oil
- Mix it with 90 ml of boiled cooled water 50°C (122°F)
- Check the porridge temperature (37°C/98.6°F)
Preparation after 6 Months.
The use of Infant Formula:
- Cool 150 ml of boiled water to 50°C (122°F)
- Add 5 scoops of Infant Formula Stage 2
- Mix it with 18g of porridge (approx. 3-4 spoons) in a bowl
- From 10 months do the same but only use Infant Formula Stage 3
